Returning

Well, i have eleven minutes of Internet access left and am sitting in a Internet cafe in Heathrow Airport after just completing a 23 hour plane journey. I'm confused right now and i am looking forward to getting home and lying in bed. My body tells me it's past lunch time... but it's 8.20am.

We still have one final flight! From Heathrow to Edinburgh then we need to find a way to get from Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy. So, another few hours until i reach my house, another couple of hours added to this marathon journey (Except a bit further than a marathon!), lasting from yesterday at 10am Australian time (or 1am British time) to about noon the day after in British time. about 35 hours by the time i get home. * Weep, i hardly slept last night... or was it morning... or was it afternoon in our stop in Bangkok?

Day 21, Saturday 25 July 2009

My last full day in Australia, it's sad to be going, but in a way i am looking forward to it in a way.

I still have 3 weeks of holidays and in that time intend to open up another blog, which you should check out. On this one though i will have a lot more time to plan it out and take my time over it. Since i do not have holiday things that need doing, instead I'll just be relaxing into writing the blog. Come back here in a few days for the URL.

Anyway, today we went via ferry to Woy Woy again, in an attempt to spend the remainder of our dollars and just to chill out on the day before we leave. Right now I'm in an Internet cafe, at $7 an hour, which is more expensive than the Internet places in Cairns, (I saw one first half hour free then a dollar an hour!) but a lot cheaper than the hotel prices, $16 an hour was how much one cost!

I won't be blogging tomorrow, because i will inevitably be struggling through 23 hours of a economy class flight. I can't wait!

See you soon on other blogs, Colin.

Day 20, Friday 24 July 2009

From Sydney we head back to Gosford then my Aunts house today. Firstly though we took the ferry to Manly, for a quick look around. I was wearing my Barmah hat today, whilst waiting for the ferry a kid and his grandmother sat down next to me, he said "Look at him, He's a cowboy!" which i thought was extremely cute, worth a laugh. Earlier a guy approached me and asked if i was from the "Wild wild west." Further north i had no reactions like that, but here in Sydney during the winter i had two in one day! So if you're in Sydney during winter with you Barmah hat try it!.

Day 18, Thursday 23 July 2009

Today we flew back to Sydney. All though i have thoroughly enjoyed being all over the East coast and have had a great time every where i find Sydney to be the place i have liked the most.

Maybe it's because I'm such a big tourist, i don't know but i just like it here and am glad to back, if only for a night.

Well, an interesting little tale from this morning, we are waiting for the airport shuttle bus to... the airport. It is running late by ten minutes, and a limousine pulls by, i make a casual remark "I'd laugh if that was our bus..." a woman gets out the front and tells us that it is and it was the last vehicle in the yard making it the cheapest limo ride we will ever go on! Way to travel in style, only to be taken to a Jet Star plane to fly in economy class!

Not much else happened today, we checked into our hotel The Swissotel. Which is five star i believe, which should make for a good nights sleep!

So you know, there is only three nights of my time in Australia left, then i fly back to Britain. Then though i will upload pictures, so make sure you come back here in five days and check it out.

Day 17, Wednesday 22 July 2009

Well, after our first night in Townsville, we only have one fully day staying there, so we mainly choose to relax. We saw coral and exotic fish... but unfortunately we weren't at the Great Barrier Reef, instead went to Reef HQ the cities aquarium. Although it was good, who would rather go to an aquarium than go to the Great barrier reef?

Day 16, Tuesday 22 July 2009

A joke i heard about Queensland rail-

Me "Oh, by the way I'm using the Queensland rail service!"
You "Really, I'll walk along side you then!"

Unfortunately, i heard this joke to late... and went on a journey from Cairns to Townsville with Queensland rail... named The Sunlander. It took over eight hours. OK, understandable if it is a long way, but in the car it could have taken half that time. We didn't realize that it goes at 20 mph. It was terrible watching the trucks and camper vans drive past us on the road next to us. We could have taken a half hour flight instead or whatever!

Well, after most of our day was taken up, we finished our day at and Australian grill, where i ate a Barramundi, a fish which is what you could call, and Australian icon. Which is i think the first australian meal i have had and it was really good! Shame you don't get Barramundi in Scotland!
